SuperVision
SuperVision from Friendware
Security Solutions is a managed server service that provides
clients with the capability to monitor their critical servers and operating
systems. It is designed as an add on to our Managed Internetworking Service,
and provides 7x24x365 fault detection and intervention services through
a secure connection to our state of the art network management centers. If
a network problem occurs, we first attempt to fix it from the center, using
an extensive set of diagnostic tools. If the problem persists, the
center will quickly dispatch the appropriate network engineer to restore
service as quickly as possible. And, as your agent, we also work with your
communications carrier to resolve wide area network problems. Supervision
is offered in four flexible levels of monitoring, which may be selected
on a device by device basis. All four levels provide problem notification
to your staff based on an escalation matrix that you specify, voice, pager,
e-mail or fax. You also may specify primary and alternate contacts. Devices
monitored at any of the four levels are included in our daily operational
review, which ensures timely detection of devices with unacceptable reliability
profiles. For all monitored devices, you receive each week a CD-ROM, which
contains up to 70 standard management reports for the preceding week. The
CD-ROM also includes valuable year to date trend data with easy to use
software for graphically viewing the statistics and reports. In addition
to the weekly reports on CD-ROM, monthly summary reports for all devices
are provided. Availability, Network and System level reports collect various
amounts of data. Diagnostic level reporting provides the highest level
of monitoring and also includes problem isolation/resolution services.
Supervision
Monitoring Levels:
Availability Level monitors basic
information about any device on your network and provides concise reports.
Network Level helps you understand the behavior of your network. It provides
the information needed to build a detailed trending analysis of network
traffic, network errors and device utilization. System Level monitoring
provides information for NT, Novell and UNIX servers and selected applications.
Diagnostic Level monitoring is the highest level of support. Devices are
linked to our Open View system, ensuring that the network operations center
has access to the real-time diagnostic information
Thin Client
Computing
A common challenge in today’s complex,
diverse IT environment is effectively delivering mission critical applications
to the desktop. Incompatible operating systems, bandwidth constraints and
network protocol dependencies are all common hurdles to successfully delivering
applications to corporate clients. Friendware Security Solutions has worked
with many organizations to overcome these difficulties by designing and
implementing a Thin Client Computing Application Delivery architecture.
The thin client, server centric computing approach utilizes an application
server to execute programs which transfers screen updates, keyboard and
mouse strokes to distributed client computing devices.
The financial and productivity gains
of implementing thin client architectures can be dramatic. Server based
application environments simplify and reduce workstation configurations,
leading to lowered support costs and extended desktop environment, regardless
of the hardware platform or operating system.
